What is a solid forklift tyre?

The tyre is the same size as a pneumatic tyre and in most cases will fit onto the same rim. Because it is entirely constructed of rubber it means no downtime due to punctures

A solid tyre is generally made of three different types of rubber compound. There is a tuff compound combined with steel that is press fitted over the rim. The next layer of rubber is a much softer compound and acts a a cushion when in us. The final layer is the tread area. This layer varies greatly between manufactures, and it is this layer that greatly determines the life of the tyre.
